When did Atlantic Elevators start: Atlantic Elevators started in 2003
How long have you worked for Atlantic Elevators: I have worked with Atlantic Elevators since 2003. Started working as a helper for 2 – 3 years. I moved to Virginia and worked for Atlantic for 3 to 4 years. I moved to California and worked for Thyssenkrupp directly for a couple of years. I came back to work part-time with Atlantic Elevators while also doing a carpet cleaning business for 2 years. Then I went to work in Virginia again for a year. Now been back with Atlantic Elevators for 6 years and has an owner/operational manager.
What is your favorite thing about your job: My favorite thing about the elevator industry is that it is a big industry but at the same time small where the workforce is incredibly small, and you see the same people in different areas. Also, I love that there is a sense of completion of when a job is finished and watching it progress so quickly.
If you could do another job for just one day what would it be: Any other job for one day is a hard question. I always think the grass is not always greener on the other side. Really appreciate what I have now and instead of where I could be working. Due to this, all jobs have their own hardships. So, I don’t have another place I would want to work at this time.
How long have you known Mark and Sandy: I have known Mark and Sandy for probably close to 10 years or more.
What is your favorite thing to do on the Outer Banks: Running
What brought you to the Outer Banks: Family brought me to the Outer Banks. My brothers and many cousins, aunts, uncles all live here in the Outer Banks.
Where is your favorite vacation spot: My favorite vacation spot is any state park in the mountains of NC or VA. Banner Elk, Asheville, Boone, etc.
