When did you start OBX Frozen Yogurt? We acquired OBX Frozen Yogurt in early 2017 and moved the business to Southern Shores Crossing a few months later. We opened our doors on May 20, 2017, and recently celebrated a sweet first year!
What is your favorite thing about your job? We truly love connecting with customers of all ages on a personal level, both locals and visitors. We’ve really forged some good friendships in a short period of time in the shop. It’s our happy place and we want people to relax and enjoy their time with us.
If you could do another job for one day what would it be? Either a member of Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band or a meteorologist on The Weather Channel
How long have you known Mark and Sandy? We met Mark and Sandy in 2016, a few years after moving to the Outer Banks and quickly became great friends. They are two of the most genuine and giving people we know and truly appreciate their friendship.
What is your favorite thing to do on the Outer Banks? Picnics and walks on the beach with our daughter and dog … simply priceless!
What brought you to the Outer Banks? After vacationing on the OBX for many years with her family, Jenn’s parents retired to Nags Head 10 years ago, giving us an amazing beach retreat to escape to as often as we possibly could. We knew that we’d eventually end up on the Outer Banks at some point in our lifetime, but we accelerated that timing in 2014 when we decided that being close to family and the beach was a priority for us … and we couldn’t be happier!
Favorite Vacation Spot? Now that we actually live in our favorite vacation spot, we love Hawaii (Maui and Kauai), Walt Disney World, and the Florida Keys. We also love going back to New York City (our original home) and Nashville, Tennessee (where we lived for almost 8 years) to visit family and friends.
