When did you start Woods Road Furniture? I started Woods Road Furniture in 2009. I grew up working for my Dad who owned Harmony Cabinets, but I always loved making furniture. So I decided to start my own business, Woods Road Furniture.
What do you do at Woods Road Furniture? We make custom solid wood furniture. Everyone knows me for building large dining tables in rental homes. We also make all other types of furniture but that’s kinda our specialty.
What is your favorite thing about your job? The whole process of meeting someone and hearing what they want, then bringing that idea to life. Plus the working with your hands part, it’s nice to lose yourself in the shop for a few hours.
If you could do another job for just one day what would it be? Charter Boat Captain, I wouldn’t be very good but I love being on the water all day.
How long have you known Mark and Sandy? I’d say close to 20 years, back when I worked for my Dad building cabinets we always did kitchens for Sandmark.
What is your favorite thing to do on the Outer Banks? Spend a day at the beach with my wife when the waves are good!
What brought you to the Outer Banks? I was born here in 1979, really it was my parents coming here on their honeymoon and then never leaving. My dad set up his shop in the early 80’s so I grew up in woodworking shops.
Where is your favorite vacation spot? Tough one 50-50 France and Hawaii
