In 2011 Sam and Teri Howell purchased this 1984 saltbox style home with the intention of one day renovating and adding an addition to make it their permanent home. In 2018 they came to us at Sandmark Custom Homes with a preliminary plan for the renovation of their beach house. After discussing their needs, we made some modifications to the original drawings.
Having a large family, the Howells wanted to make sure there was enough room for their grown children and grandchildren. The final layout involved converting the top level, which was two bedrooms that shared a bathroom into a master suite with access to an ocean view deck. On the main level, we expanded and renovated the kitchen and screened-in porch. We updated the front entry, and the large family room with new built-in bunk beds added. The bathroom & laundry were updated, and stairs down to the lower level. The lower level includes closets for storage, a private bedroom & bath along with a two-car garage.
We included a built-in shaft for a future elevator that stops on each floor. New windows, siding, decks, roof, and a new driveway complete this home remodel & addition.
