Memories Made in January
January gave us the perfect opportunity to recharge and create new memories. Mark’s birthday was a highlight of the month, celebrated with a rejuvenating family getaway to the stunning island of St. John. Mark, Sandy, Amanda, Rocky, and Jett soaked in the sunshine and serenity of the island, a welcome escape from snow-covered Outer Banks! While they missed the frigid weather, they enjoyed white sandy beaches—and white piña coladas instead!
Meanwhile, Sam and Jessie embarked on a vibrant adventure to Colombia for their honeymoon. From its rich culture and breathtaking landscapes to amazing food, their trip left them inspired and fueled with incredible memories to carry into the new year.
Celebrating Meme’s 80th Birthday
February brings us a monumental celebration as Sandy’s mom, Meme, turns 80 on February 2nd! Meme is the anchor of our family, brimming with love, wisdom, and an adventurous spirit. Whether it’s her dog-sitting adventures, mornings with donuts, poolside afternoons, or a treat from High Cotton BBQ, she embraces life with boundless joy. Meme treasures every moment with her great-grandson Jett, whose growth over the last 9 months has filled her days with warmth and happiness. Happy 80th Birthday, Meme! Your love and vibrant energy enrich our lives every day, and we’re so grateful to celebrate you.
What’s Ahead in February
Building Industry Milestones
For Mark, February is shaping up to be a milestone-packed month in the building industry. It starts on home turf with the NCHBA Regional Meetings, being hosted right here in Manteo. Later in the month, Mark will travel to Greensboro for the 1st Quarter NCHBA meetings—an excellent opportunity to collaborate with and advocate for fellow builders across North Carolina.
The excitement continues at the International Builders’ Show (IBS) in Las Vegas at the end of February. IBS is a premier event for the building industry, showcasing the latest innovations, products, and trends. We’re thrilled to discover new ideas and solutions we can bring into our custom home and renovation projects. And on a lighter note, we’re kicking off our time in Vegas with a memorable start—a night with friends at the Eagles concert at the Sphere!
