The featured Sandmark Custom Home is a renovation we did for Sam and Teri Howell. In 2011 the Howell’s purchased a 1984 Saltbox style home with the intention of one day renovating and adding an addition to make it their permanent home. In 2018 they came to us with a preliminary plan for the renovation of their beach house. After discussing their needs and the design, we made some modifications to the original drawings. Having a large family, they wanted to make sure there was room for their grown children and grandchildren. The final layout involved converting the top level which was two bedrooms that shared a bathroom into a new top-level master suite with access to an ocean view deck. On the main level we expanded the kitchen and screened porch, added a new front entry, large family room, bathroom, laundry, and stairs down to the lower level. The newly added lower level includes closets for storage, a private bedroom & bathroom along with a two-car garage. We have built-in a shaft for a future elevator that stops on each floor. New windows, siding, decks, roof and a new driveway complete this remodel. We took this 1,800 sq. ft. saltbox and made it a 3,600 sq. ft. custom home for this family.
